One Month of Harrison | Baby Update

I can't believe that my littlest love, Harrison, has been with us for 1 whole month! (and counting) It feels like he has been with us forever, which just goes to show that we've all adjusted to having him in our lives just perfectly.
It's not been the easiest first month mind you, we both got of to a rocky start with breastfeeding. There is nothing wrong with his latch, infant I think we have got on really well with this part of breastfeeding, the problem we both suffered from was a yeast infection. Luckily I caught onto it pretty fast and the health visitor was still coming round to check on us so I was able to mention it to her and get advice. We both got a Drs appointment the next day and was given some medicine to help clear it up. For anyone who is interested, Harrison was given some drops x4 a day and I was given some gel to put on my nipples x4 a day. We both cleared up pretty quickly which was amazing.
I never breastfed my first two so this is all a new experience for me and the yeast infection unfortunately made it quite painful to feed. As it was very painful and I felt I couldn't feed, we did give Harrison some ready made formula and although I knew deep down it was best for him, because fed is best, I still felt really guilty for that one bottle the first time. Now he feeds off the breast all day and has a bottle for bedtime, so he is combination fed and the guilt has gone because this is what works best for Harrison.
Although I haven't been able to get down to our local weighing centre, I do have a rough estimate of how much he does weigh. I say rough estimate because I had the idea to stand on the weighing scales and weigh myself, then stand on them a second time holding Harrison and take the two away from each other. Makes sense right! Based on that he weighed in at 9lbs 4oz, so that is a whole 1lb since birth. I'm unsure if this is a great weight gain or not, but it shows he is gaining weight which is obviously a great sign.
I can't believe how fast he is growing and changing, honestly I feel like this time is flying by already and he is only 1 month, which actually when you say it that way doesn't sound like a lot, but it defiantly feels it!

Unfortently I didn't get a picture of him at 3 weeks as it was our eldest child's birthday, so as you can imagine there was a lot going on that day.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog post today, be sure to check out the video too.

take care xo

I had a baby!

Hey and welcome back to my blog!
I have some very exciting (and very bleated) news for you and that is that I had my baby! You may already know this if you watch my daily vlogs on my youtube channel Pearman vlogs, but if you don't follow me then you will have just found this out now 😊 so let me tell you all about my new little bundle of joy.
On the 4th July 2018 at 22:44 me and Matt were blessed with a happy, healthy baby boy who weighed in at 8lbs 4oz.
(my smallest baby yet)
This is my second son and he was named Harrison Eric. The name Harrison actually comes from my mums mum (my nan) side of the family, it was her maiden name before she married my granddad. The name Eric was in memory of Matt's uncle who sadly passed away a few years ago.
I had a spontaneous natural labour of 44 minutes. Sadly because it all happened so fast I couldn't make it off the bed into the birthing pool which I had hoped for, but I felt I done really well this time with a bed birth. I did have a second degree tear like with my first two.
If you'd like to know more about my labour and delivery please check out my 'meet my baby' video at the bottom of this post, or leave a comment on my blog.

The first picture is right after giving birth, and the second is of Harrison the next morning.

The first time meeting his older siblings.

1 week and 2 weeks old.

3 weeks old and my little attempt at some newborn photography.

This is our first photo as family of five, it was Ella's 8th birthday and Harrison's 4 week milestone.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog
